C.A.S.A. Music Program at P.S. 330Q
The Corona Youth Music Project (CYMP) was founded in 2010 to provide tuition-free opportunities to children to learn an instrument and play in an orchestra. At the moment, CYMP has three youth and children orchestras, and around 120 students from different schools in Corona and it’s surrounding neighborhoods. We started the CASA program at PS330Q in the fall of 2019. We are excited to see our students come back this year!
All our activities are conducted remotely via Zoom. Since playing in an orchestra online is not practical, we are offering individual online instrument lessons to all our students. This means that each student has a unique schedule for their weekly lesson. Lessons will be 30-minutes long.
Learning a music instrument can be a tricky new experience. Teachers appreciate very much the hands-on assistance of an adult at home. We do require that an adult is present in all lessons online.
El Corona Youth Music Project (CYMP) se fundó en 2010, para proveer oportunidades gratuitas para que los niños aprendan un instrumento y participen en una orquesta. Hoy día, CYMP tiene tres orquestas infantiles y juveniles, y alrededor de 200 estudiantes de diferentes escuelas de Corona y zonas aledañas. En 2017, iniciamos el programa CASA en PS110Q. ¡Nos emociona volver a ver a nuestros estudiantes de vuelta este año!
Todas nuestras actividades se llevarán a cabo por Zoom. Puesto que tocar en una orquesta en línea no es práctico, estamos ofreciendo lecciones individuales de instrumento en línea a todos nuestros estudiantes. Esto significa que cada estudiante tiene un horario individual para su lección semanal. Las lecciones durarán 30 minutos.
Aprender a tocar un instrumento musical es una nueva experiencia que puede ser complicada. Nuestros maestros apreciarán mucho la ayuda activa de un adulto en casa. Requeriremos que un adulto esté presente en todas las lecciones en línea.
